My Mk6 Gti seat Mod

to fit these in to my mk4 golf gti i started of with a few measurements .i measured inbetween the floor rails were the old seats came out,a measurment of 54 inches was what i needed so i headed of to my local department store and bought some 30x30mm box section.i cut it at 54 inches and to make it fit between the rails ,i had to pry the channel wider ,i did this easy enough with vice grips..

the box section was fed between the rails and to stop it moving and giving it a permanent seating i drilled down between the channel and into the box section and tightened it down with a hex screw.it is totally solid.

i then measured and drilled the holes so the mk6 seat rail will bolt into the box section.

i tightened it down with a m5x50 with mushroom head as you do not want the head of the bolt intruding with the rail catcher.

The rear box section ran across the back and would be awful for a rear passenger and would of left less foot room..

so i cut it were the red markings show.

i drilled down between the channel and into the box section and tightened it down with a hex screw the same as the front.
